I seem to want to rush through process to get to the result. I'm guessing that I am not the only one. I want the instant results without the work. I know that it's in the process that the learning and growth happens. It's in the process that the depth and foundation is put in that allows the results a place to rest safely.
The biggest thing that I have been wanting to rush recently are my emotions. I have not been allowing myself time to process through the complex emotions brought up in recent seasons. Even when I have the time, I want to distract and push past it. I am realising that I want to get through the emotions without actually going through them!
Maybe you are like me and stop yourself from processing emotions fully. Maybe you rush through the process times and then wonder why things keep resurfacing or why the results you were seeking seem to be built on unstable ground. How do we change our rushing ways? I don't know if I have the answer right now. For me, my first step is to get my journal out again and start pouring out my heart without censorship. What is your next step?
Written as part of Five Minute Friday on the prompt word "rush". Five Minute Friday is a community of writers who write for five minutes unedited and cheer each other on in our writing journeys. You can see what others have written here.
Maybe part of your next step is learning to meditate on Scripture and take time to slow your soul. That is exactly why I created the Fragrant Meditation course. Even if you aren't interested in the essential oil side of it, this course is still for you.
