Do your days feel like you are trying to capture fog? Does time seem to slip through your fingers with little to show for it (or so you think when looking at the unchecked items on your to-do list)? I know that feeling. I know what it is like to grasp for achievement, productivity and effective use of time and yet be completely baffled by how little I have got done.
In my case, I am realising that I way underestimate how much time I need for some tasks and way overestimate how much I can achieve in a day, especially when I factor in extra tiredness, injury limitations and the needs of my family. I have been frustrated at myself in this. I am learning, slowly, how to pull back, how to simplify and how to refocus on what is my priority. I want to capture these days and make them work for me. I don't want to be ruled by that drive though.
In this game of give and take, focus and distraction, push and pull, I know I am not alone. I know that I am worthy no matter what my to-do list looks like. I know that I am doing what I need to be doing right now. And those bits that are superfluous? They can drift away.
